The British Inspiration Trust (BRIT) Challenge 2023


The British Inspiration Trust (BRIT) supports adult mental health and fitness throughout the UK. One of the ways they do this is through the delivery of the annual BRIT Challenge. 

The BRIT Challenge is an inclusive feel-good fundraiser to improve mental health and fitness, all whilst raising vital funds for local, regional and national charities, alongside BRIT. This year’s challenge will take place between 23 January 2023 and 23 March 2023

The annual BRIT Challenge is designed to be completed by individuals working as a team to cover each year's distance (2023 will be 2,023 miles). You can do this in a number of ways, such as hand-cycling, cycling, wheelchair pushing, swimming, walking, jogging, running, rowing, or paddling (canoeing, kayaking or paddle-boarding).  

Every university and college taking part is invited to choose a second charity to split the proceeds with. This year USW is supporting Charlie Waller Trust alongside BRIT. 

How can I take part? 

To take part in the BRIT Challenge, sign up and join the University of South Wales - Prifysgol De Cymru team today! Make sure you keep track of your miles and email  [email protected] with your total mileage.  

Donations are accepted through the USW BRIT Challenge - GiveStar webpage. 

Join a BRIT Challenge walk 

Come and join staff and students on a 6-mile scenic walk from Treforest Campus to the Sports Park, via Glyntaff. The meeting point is the Students’ Union on Treforest Campus.  

This is an opportunity to relax, chat and meet other members of the USW community. There will also be trained listeners available if you’d like to talk a problem through.

An important part of the challenge is tracking the miles you have completed. The following apps can help you keep track of your progress:
