Are you a fan of the outdoors? Maybe fancy yourself as a bit of a green thumb?
USW have partnered with Meadow Street Community Garden and Woodland to provide wellbeing and health volunteer opportunities for students. Located within a 7-minute walk of Treforest campus is a safe and welcoming environment where people from all walks of life can go and enjoy the benefits of nature, homegrown produce and will have the opportunity to share and learn new skills.
You can undertake basic garden and woodland maintenance, or you can simply visit for a walk around with FREE soup, bread, drinks and biscuits. There will also be the opportunity to learn to grow fruit and vegetables for yourself and the local community.
Volunteering days are every Wednesday 10:30am to 5pm Thursday between 2pm to 7pm and Sunday 12:00pm to 4pm.
So, what can you do when you get there? You can:
In order to take part, all you need to do is complete a volunteer enrolment form found towards the bottom of this page and email this to [email protected].
There is a new volunteer induction handbook next to the volunteer form. Please read this as it will detail what you can expect when you arrive.
If you have any questions, please email us at WB[email protected] and we will do what we can to help.
