The University runs a range of one-off events, multi-session courses and regular group meetings related to health and wellbeing – each session is listed separately under Events.

External Courses

Whilst there are currently no face-to-face workshops, the following organisations are running their courses online with free access to all regardless of location.

Free Mindfulness and Stress Control Courses available in Rhondda Cynon Taff and Merthyr Tydfil.

Free Stress Control and ACT-ion for Living Courses in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. 
Delivered by Stepiau.

Free Stress Control and Activate Your Life Courses available in Newport.
Run by the Aneurin Bevan Health Board.

ACTivate Your Life Course provided by Public Health Wales is a free online self help course to help improve your mental health and wellbeing.  This course can help you to take greater control of your actions, so that day-to-day life becomes less distressing and more enjoyable.  

SilverCloud is an online course delivered by the NHS to help you manage stress, anxiety and depression. You work through a series of topics selected by a therapist to address specific needs. The eight-week course is designed to be completed in your own time and at your own pace. To sign up you need to be registered with a GP in Wales.

Online Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) - a free online course with a different theme for each week of the 8-week program.

State of Mind project is funded by the Welsh Government and teaches a combination of skills and strategies to support young people’s mental health and wellbeing. Visit Platfform for more information about the project.
